J Lyn Thomas
J Lyn received a BA in Dance from the University of Colorado. She has taught extensively in Colorado and New York in dance schools and companies, as well as in public schools, charter schools and not-for-profit organizations. She is trained in and teaches a vast range of dance styles, but specializes in hip hop, breaking, locking and West African dance. Her extensive performance resume includes appearances in television, commercials, music videos, stage and film.
Sarah is a kids/teen yoga teacher and loves sharing something that’s brought her much joy and many lessons with youth. She has taught 20-25 kids yoga classes a week for several years in NYC public and charter schools as well as studios, working with a year-long yoga curriculum she created. She has written about youth yoga for NYYoga magazine, Mindbodygreen, YogaCityNYC, Yoganomics and Independent Yoga and has led kids yoga teacher trainings in New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC. Sarah is particularly passionate about bringing yoga to young people and weaving in concepts of creativity into the practice.
Sarah also writes: poetry, short fiction, young adult, children’s work and nonfiction. She has published her collected work of poetry, Always Moving, spanning 10 years of publication/readings/work/mentorship and NYC life with Gratitude.

Amy is a Personal Trainer and Group Instructor certified by the American Academy of Personal Training. She is passionate about fitness and health, and loves to help others attain and exceed their goals. Amy runs in her spare time, excelling in half-marathons and is looking forward to running her first full marathon soon.
Alex is the father of two healthy and active little girls. When they get together for fun time, it involves many physical activities! Alex’s fitness background is in boxing and martial arts which he has studied in the US, Japan, and Thailand. He competed in the European Mixed Martial Arts Bushido circuit in 2005 before his children were born.
Alex is a combat veteran of the US Army, and has participated in training US officers at the military academy at West Point for deployment to hostile environments. He also qualified and participated in the first World’s Toughest Mudder, a 24 hour endurance event designed by British Special Forces. When he’s not busy being a father he can be seen on several TV shows and films.
Dori O’Brien is an elementary school teacher and student of health and wellness. Pursuing these two paths has enabled her to help children improve their health and well-being.
Dori graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Family and Child Development. She later attended the University of San Francisco from where she received her MA in Teaching. While enrolled in school, Dori became a certified group fitness instructor.
For the past ten years, Dori has taught all grades from Pre K-3rd. She has taught in ICT, general education and bilingual classrooms. She created C-Fit with teachers in mind, making it safe to use in the classroom or living room.
Katie Traxler is an award-winning educator and clinician that specializes in teaching elementary music and movement through composition, improvisation, and performance. Certified in three levels of Orff-Schulwerk training, she has published several articles in the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA) Journal and has served on the Executive Board for the New York City Chapter of AOSA as both Vice-President and President. Jude Traxler is a performer and composer of experimental and conceptual music living in New York City. He regularly performs with the contemporary music groups futureCities and Mantra Percussion and is the resident composer and sound designer for the Brooklyn-based experimental theater company Sister Sylvester. Shani Perez is a New York State Certified Art Teacher, residing in Brooklyn, New York. She holds an AAS in Fashion Design from Fashion Institute of Technology, a BS in Art Education and an MS in Special Education acquired from SUNY New Paltz.
Shani’s teaching interests include visual arts education, visual literacy, teaching art to the multiple intelligences, studio practices, and professional development of teachers.
Shani developed a love for the Arts since her acceptance to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. It was there she began developing her craft and a passion for sharing the arts with others.
Shani Perez is currently teaching the Visual Arts program at a school in New York where she has developed the Arts curriculum for the last 5 years. Previously, she served on several educational and community based arts planning teams developing arts
She was recently awarded the Inspiration in Education Award by The Center for Arts Education. She lives to teach art to children of various ages and truly believes that everyone can be an artist in their own special way.
